Following lines can be found in Service log:

Shutting down service because of failure to start up SNMP Trap Monitoring thread

The issue has been addressed in Argent AT 3.1A-1510-T8

Technical Background

When Windows SNMP Trap service or similar third party program is running, the UDP port (162) for SNMP trap is used

Argent for Compliance or Argent for SNMP service cannot listen to the same port

As a result, Argent AT service shuts down

Resolution

Upgrade to Argent AT 3.1A-1510-T8 or later and set registry

HKLM\SOFTWARE\ARGENT\{PRODUCT}\ NO_TRAP_LISTENER to 1

For user cannot upgrade immediately, he can stop Windows SNMP Trap service, which is generally not used at all
