Summary

Argent Advanced Technology GUI can take more than a minute to start

Technical Background

By checking main GUI log, it can be identified that most startup time was spent on reading Monitoring Groups

Further analysis shows there are more than 10 monitoring groups that are defined using ODBC queries

During startup, main GUI reads the information of nodes included in each Monitoring Group

The information is needed for event console filter (SuperConsole & Monitoring Group)

It needs to run a SQL query for every ODBC query based Monitoring Group

When there are many such Monitoring Groups, the startup time can be significantly increased

The issue has been addressed in Argent Advanced Technology 5.1A-1901-A

The work load has been moved to a worker thread so that main GUI can start up quickly

Upgrade to Argent Advanced Technology 5.1A-1901-A or above
