KBI 310687 Issue Addressed: No Reports Scheduled-ARGSOFT_ARGENT_REPORTS_CDP.EXE Does Not Appear
Version
Argent Reports 3.0A-1310-A and below
Date
Monday, 30 Sep 2013
Summary
Some customers may report that reports are not being scheduled — this differs from https://help.argent.com/#KBI_310655
In this scenario, customers have reported instances where the ARGSOFT_ARGENT_REPORTS_CDP.EXE process, which is a process responsible for executing the automatic schedule for Argent Reports, does not appear after restarting the Argent Reports – Scheduling Service — even after upgrading to Argent Reports 3.0A-1310-A
Technical Background
Typically, whenever the Argent Reports – Scheduling Service is started, it immediately starts the ARGSOFT_ARGENT_REPORTS_CDP.EXE process
This process is designed to run “forever” until explicitly terminated or when the server is shutdown
The process is essentially on a sleep/wake-up cycle based on the schedule in the AR_FORECAST database table of Argent Reports
If this process is not present in Task Manager, no reports can be scheduled even if the Argent Reports – Scheduling Service is started
Resolution
This issue has been bullet-proofed and addressed
Upgrade to Argent Reports 3.0A-1310-B or above
