KBI 312056 Enhancement: Added PLINK As A Fallback Communication Option To Monitor Linux Or Unix Servers
Version
Argent Advanced Technology 5.1A-2304-A and above
Date
Thursday, 1 June 2023
Summary
Added PLINK as fallback communication option to monitor Linux or Unix servers.
Technical Background
By default, Argent Advanced Technology uses built-in SSH functions to monitor Linux or Unix servers.
But this built-in SSH library cannot handle the new SSH in AIX version 7.3. There is a situation where the user has a lot of other versions of Linux or Unix servers monitored using Argent Advanced Technology products, so we cannot blindly switch from the SSH library to PLINK by changing the registry key SOFTWARE\Argent\COMMON\SSH_LIBRARY.
So added PLINK as a fallback option.
Do the following to configure PLINK as a fallback communication option in CMDB-X:
- Select ‘SSH’ as the Communication option.
- Select PLINK as Logon option.
- Fill in the appropriate Logon and Password.
Note:
Argent Advanced Technology installation package does not include PLINK.EXE; customer must download separately from http://www.putty.org/ and place PLINK.exe in C:\Windows
Resolution
Upgrade to Argent Advanced Technology 5.1A-2304-A or above
