Summary

Argent for SQL Server Rules and Relators fails when test against SQL Server 2022

Technical Background

Examination by TaskMgr or SysInternals’s Process Explorer shows CPU and I/O being consumed; not a wait or deadly embrace.

When testing SQL Rules against SQL Server 2022, the error “SQL monitor does not support the installed version of SQL Server. Version: 16” appears in the test results:

This issue has been addressed now:

Note: The SQL server Rules validate the version of the target SQL Server against the supported SQL Server versions before executing the Rule logic. If an unknown version is found, it logs an “Unsupported version” error along with the version number. It is necessary to update the code for new SQL Server releases. The issue occurred because the code was not updated for SQL Server 2022.

Upgrade to Argent Advanced Technology 5.1A-2410-A or above
