Service Level Agreement Rules

Service Level Agreement Rules checks if a system is down via TCP/IP ping.

This is the simplest method to determine the availability of a server or device.

Administrators should be aware that the ability to PING a server ONLY indicates the Network Interface is functioning.

You need to use a complete System Down Rule to accurately determine the operational state of a server – use at least NetRemoteTOD to test.

NOTE: To prevent false alarms due to time-out errors, set the Rule to Alert only after it has been broken more than once.

The number of times will depend on the speed of the network, and the scan rate of the Relator.
