Summary

The transaction log can grow very quickly.

When truncating the transaction log using the Argent maintenance SQL script, the script fails to execute.

Transaction log space is still required even though the transaction log is being truncated.

Resolution

The best approach is to add a second transaction log on a different physical disk using the SQL Server Enterprise Manager.

After the transaction log is truncated, the second transaction log can be dismounted.
