Summary

The Windows SNMP service must be installed on a Transfer Engine that is using an SNMP Trap Rule

Technical Background

The Transfer Engine listens for SNMP trap messages if and only if the Transfer Engine

is used in one or more production Relators with SNMP Trap rule.

If the Transfer Engine is not used in any production Relator with SNMP rules,

it will not listen for SNMP trap message at all and will NOT need the Windows SNMP service to be installed.

Transfer Engine can be used in a Relator with multiple SNMP Trap Rules, or

in multiple Relators with different SNMP Trap Rules.
