KBI 310123 Changing Web Ports Within IIS Manager

Version

Argent Business Manager – All

Date

13 Sep 2008

Summary

Occasionally, the Argent Business Manager will be installed on a server that has other web servers running on it.

This can cause conflicts between the multiple web servers and the Argent Business Manager especially if all web servers are using the default Internet Information Server (IIS) port (Port 80) which is the default port for the Argent Business Manager.

Resolution

It is possible to change the port that IIS services will listen to.

To determine how to do this, first determine the version of IIS that you are currently using:

For Microsoft IIS versions 4.0 to 6.0

  1. Open Internet Service Manager or IIS Manager.
  2. If necessary, expand the Web server that you want, and then expand Web Sites.
  3. Right-click the Web site that you want to change.
  4. Click Properties.
  5. Click the Web Site tab.
  6. Change the TCP Port Number in the TCP Port edit box (or click Advanced for multiple Port settings).
  7. Click OK to save the changes.

For Microsoft IIS 7.0

  1. Open IIS Manager.
  2. Select the Web site that you wish to configure.
  3. In the Action pane, click Bindings.
  4. Click Add to add a new site binding, or click Edit to change an existing binding.
  5. Click OK to apply the changes.
