                                               From <Invalid IP Address>

Technical Background

This is caused by the customer using the Windows SNMP Manager to listen to traps, which only supports SNMPv1.

The message ‘From <Invalid IP Address>‘ message in the log.

Resolution

To address this, customers need to change the registry at the following path:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Argent\ArgentMangementConsole\SNMP_LIBRARY

Change the value to 1 to use the DART library to support SNMPv2.

Change the value to 2 to use the SSNMP library to support SNMPv3.
