Summary

The following error is displayed when attempting to run the SETUP.EXE in the Argent Installations.

A corresponding entry in the Application Eventlog is also seen.

Technical Background

The error appears due to the “Dependent Assembly Microsoft.VC80.MFCLOC could not be found“. This is a Microsoft Runtime Library that the setup is attempting to reference.

Resolution

Locate the VCREDIST_X86.EXE present in the _ARGENT_AT_INSTALL folder and execute it. This will install the relevant runtime libraries.

SETUP.EXE will now execute successfully.
