KBI 310616 Issue Addressed: Auto Correction Not Working When Using Fire Separate Events’
Version
Issue Addressed in Argent Advanced Technology 3.1A-1308-A and above
Date
Monday, 29 Jul 2013
Summary
Outstanding Event of Performance rule is mistakenly corrected when rule is not broken for a different instance
Technical Background
The typical example is disk free space rule (‘PRF_DISK_ALL_15‘). Say the target machine has disk ‘C‘, ‘D‘ and ‘E‘, with free space of ‘10%, ‘20%‘ and ‘30%‘ respectively. If the rule is configured with option ”Fire Separate Events For Each Performance Instance‘, the Rule will break for disk ‘C‘, and an event is fired. But in the next check, the event is corrected even the free spaces do not change for any drive. A coding error causes the ‘D‘ drive corrects event of ‘C‘ drive.
Resolution
Upgrade to Argent Advanced Technology 3.1A-1308-A and above.
For Argent Advanced Technology 3.1A-1307-A and below, customers can uncheck the option ‘Fire Separate Events For Each Performance Instance‘ to make auto correction working properly, though only one event will be fired for all instances.
