Summary

If the Customer is using SQL Server always check the size of the SQL Transaction Log.

It is common for users creating a SQL Server database to use the default settings, which are a data file size is 1 MB, and transaction log size is 1 MB.

Although both files are set to grow automatically, numerous ODBC errors can be generated when database runs out of transaction log.

Technical Background

As thumb of the rule, allocate at least 750 MB for both the data file and the transaction log.

Always allocate the transaction logs in the size similar to data files.
