KBI 312182 How To Use Remote PowerShell Without Needing To Expose Security Credentials

Version

Argent Omega 2.2A-2404-A and later

Summary

PowerShell is extensively used to manage Microsoft and other vendors’ software.

Examples include Azure Cloud, PowerShell Remoting, VMware PowerCLI, etc.

When monitoring a remote resource, it is typical to log on and connect with the remote resource first. If doing this directly in PowerShell script, credential information usually must be specified explicitly.

While logon passwords are not only hard coded this is still a major security risk.
Argent Omega implements built-in connectivity options and uses credentials defined in CMDB-X to accomplish the task.
