Date

Summary

A new registry entry has been added to optionally disable macro recursion, the key is:

HKLM\SOFTWARE\ARGENT\ARGENT_CONSOLE\ALLOW_RECURSIVE_ALERT_MACRO

Technical Background

Though recursive definition is a very powerful tool in some situation, sometimes it can be misused

The new registry key permits customers to control the use of this feature, the key is:

HKLM\SOFTWARE\ARGENT\ARGENT_CONSOLE\ALLOW_RECURSIVE_ALERT_MACRO

The recursive Alert Macro definition is allowed if the value is 1 (TRUE)

By default, the value is 1 (TRUE) and the recursive definition is allowed, which is the consistent with previous Argent AT versions

To disable, set this registry key to 0

When the recursive definition is disallowed, the Alert Macro branch is removed when customer brings up the Alert Macro definition dialog box

Resolution

Upgrade to Argent Advanced Technology 3.1A-1310-A or later
