Summary

When Argent Console Engine is sending batches of SMS Alerts, Alerts of newly incoming Events will be significantly delayed

The issue is addressed in Argent AT 3.1A-1501-A

Technical Background

Argent Console Engine put incoming Event requests in a FIFO queue

An Event won’t be handled until the ones before it have been processed

In Argent AT version earlier than and including 3.1A-1410-A, a SMS Alert can take up to 30 seconds to fire

As a result, if an Event causes SMS Alerts, it can take more than half a minute to process

If a batch of Events all contain SMS Alerts, any Event behind the batch can be severely delayed

Argent AT 3.1A-1501-A addresses the issue by not only significantly improved performance of sending SMS Alert

but also handling SMS Alert asynchronously

As a result, Events firing SMS Alerts will not block following Events to be processed
