KBI 311469 Issue Addressed: Delayed and Cancelled Tasks for Remote Trusted Agent When There Are More Than 30 Server/Devices to Monitor

Version

Argent Advanced Technology 3.1A-1601-T19 and earlier

Date

Monday, 24 October 2016

Summary

If a remote Trusted Agent is assigned to monitor more than 30 server or devices, the tasks can be severely delayed or even cancelled

The root cause is the communication protocol between remote Trusted Agent and Supervising Engine

Remote Trusted Agent relies purely on TCP/IP to communicate with Supervising Engine

In 1601-T19 and earlier versions, Remote Trusted Agent download work order and upload worker order result one file one time

It proves to be very inefficient when dealing with heavy load

There will be no communication errors

It is simply the low throughput that holds back the performance

The issue has been addressed in Argent AT 3.1A-1601-T20

The remote Trusted Agent now downloads and uploads work order files in compressed batch

It can handle more than 1000 server/devices in Argent’s lab testing

Note: The issue described does not apply to local Trusted Agent, which communicates with Supervising Engine through Windows file shares
