KBI 310555 Issue Addressed: Deleted Nodes Re-appear In CMDB-X

Version

Issue Addressed in Argent AT 3.1A-1307-A or above

Date

Tue, 25 Jun 2013

Summary

After a customer deletes a node from the CMDB-X, after the GUI restarts, the node seems to magically re-appear in the CMDB-X.

Technical Background

The CMDB-X is shared among all AT products.

Argent AT checks if the node is licensed before deleting a CMDB-X node.

However, it only checks the current product.

If the node is licensed in another product, the service for that product will add the node back.

From the customer’s point of view, the node has inexplicably re-appeared.

Resolution

For Argent AT 3.1A-1304-L and earlier, manually go through all installed Argent AT products, and make sure the node is not licensed in any of them.

Once this is done, the customer can delete the node from the CMDB-X.

Alternatively, customers can upgrade to Argent AT 3.1A-1307 or above, where the GUI checks the licensed node database for ALL products.
