Version
Argent Job Scheduler 10.0A-1405-A or earlier
Date
Wednesday, 16 July 2014
Summary
Argent Job Scheduler has been enhanced with an option to edit the Job attributes before executing a submitted Job
Technical Background
A new right click option ‘Edit Job Attributes Before Execution‘ has been added in J1 screen
Attributes for Jobs having status like ‘Ended‘, ‘Running‘ etc cannot be edited
A message is displayed stating that the functionality is not permitted
Only Jobs with status like ‘Ready‘, ‘Dependency‘ or ‘Held‘ can be edited before execution
On clicking the option ‘Edit Job Attributes Before Execution‘, J21A screen opens up where the attributes for the Job can be edited and saved
When the Job attributes are being edited, the Status of the Job changes to ‘GUI Editing‘
The Status changes back to the original once the editing is completed
A warning message is displayed when the Job stays in editing mode for more than 200 seconds
After 300 seconds (which is configurable) and if still in edit mode without saving any changes, the Job attributes revert back to the original
A message also appears intimating the ignored changes
The default value for the Job Edit Interval is set as 300 seconds
This is configurable in the Configuration Options screen (J1P)
The minimum value that can be set is 300 seconds and the maximum is 3600 seconds
Resolution
Upgrade to Argent Job Scheduler 10.0A-1407-B or later
