KBI 310465 New Feature: Shared And Private Definitions In Argent Global Manager
Version
Argent Global Manager 3.1A-1304-A

Summary
Two main concepts govern the working of Views. A definition (Monitoring Object, Alert, Rule, Relator) can be either Private or Shared. When a definition is added to a view a message is displayed with option to add it as Shared or Private
Private
A ‘Private‘ definition is created by a user within a View. Only people in this View can see the definition.
A Private definition has an optional feature to prefix the View name in the name of the definition
Example: PS_DEPARTMENT_1_START_IIS_WWW
Shared
A ‘Shared‘ definition is an existing definition that was either configured in the pre-View era in the GUI, or a ‘Private‘ definition from another View. When a definition is ‘Shared‘ with another View, the Views simply have a pointer to this definition. It is NOT a separate copy
Example: PS_START_IIS_WWW
