Summary

Argent Console and Argent defender 9.x release can coexist on the same server,

but Alerts dependent on hardware devices may not fire properly.

Technical Background

If both products are configured to use Alphanumeric Pager Alerts or SMS Alerts,

only one of them will function properly.

This is due to the fact that the hardware device cannot be “shared”

between two different products.

THIS IS A HARDWARE / OPERATING SYSTEM LIMITATION, NOT A LIMITATION OF ARGENT.

Resolution

A solution is pending, but currently the workaround is to have an XML alert sent to the Argent Console,

and then allow Argent Console to do ALL of the SMS or Alphanumeric Pager Alerting.
