Summary

Argent Omega Migration Tool might fail to import some Email Alerts. The error message in log shows:

Validation failed for one or more entities. See ‘EntityValidationErrors’ property for more details. The validation errors are: The field To must be a string or array type with a maximum length of ‘256’

The issue has been addressed in Argent Omega 2.2A-2310-A. The original long To or Cc field value would be truncated to import. Warning messages are logged in Migration Tool log.

Technical Background

SQL columns of To and Cc in Argent Omega Email Alert have type nvarchar(256). They can only hold up to 256 characters.

It is not good practice to have very long Email To or Email Cc field value. The better solution is to use Email Address Macro.

Resolution

Upgrade to Argent Omega 2.2A-2310-A or later.
