Creating Twitter Application

Before using Twitter Alerts, users must prepare their Twitter account as follows:

  1. Create a Twitter account if the customer does not have one yet.

    To do so, logon to and sign up.

  2. Create a Twitter application if the customer does not have one setup yet.

  3. Configure the Twitter application to have at least read/write permissions.

    Click on the tab ‘Settings‘, and change the Application Type to ‘Read/Write‘, then click on ‘Update this Twitter application’s setting‘ to update.

  4. Go back to tab ‘Details‘ and write down Consumer Key and Consumer Secret.

  5. Configure TW_TWEET and test Tweet.

  6. If everything is set up properly, users should be able to see the test Tweet on the Twitter site.
