Version

Argent Advanced Technology 5.1A-2107-A and later

Date

Monday, 3 May 2021

Summary

F5 appliance runs on Linux kernel and creates encrypted configuration backup.

To back up the configuration file, F5 appliance can run crontab job to generate configuration backup as an encrypted binary file in some internal folder.

Argent for SNMP has been enhanced to allow downloading the binary file through SCP.

Properties
Configuration File Path – the full path of configuration file at F5 appliance.

Copy to Folder – the destination folder that configuration backup files are kept.

Append Date/Time Suffix – If it is true, suffix of format ‘_YYmmdd_HHMMSS’ is appended to backup file name. Note: File extension is kept.

Detect Configuration Changes – If encrypted file is changed each time it is created, for example, it contains current date/time somehow, set this property to false as there is no way to really tell something is changed.

Argent AT has built-in SCP library, which is used when method ‘SCP’ is used.

It is also possible to use ‘PSCP.exe’ which is generally installed side by side with PLINK.exe to do the work.
