Summary

Argent AT version 3.1A-1501-A greatly improves SMS modem performance

The time sending a message is reduced from 30 seconds to 4 or 5 seconds

Technical Background

The serial communication between server and modem is generally slow

Modem initialization includes hardware initialization and cellular network registration

The typical modem initialization time is about 25 to 30 seconds

In earlier versions, Argent AT closes COM port connection when having finished sending a SMS message

As results, Argent AT has to re-open COM port and initialize modem before sending each message

Argent AT 3.1A-1501-A enhances the performance by pooling the serial connection so that SMS messages can be sent continuously without re-initialization

The technique reduces the message sending time to 4-5 seconds, which is pretty much the top performance of SMS modem
