Summary

Argent WorldView fails to install with the following error

Following lines are seen in the setup log file

* ERROR * Could not found ‘DATABASE=’ in ODBC data source

* ERROR * Failed to parse Argent Job Scheduler ODBC data source

Error message = ‘Error due to ODBC DSN registry entry missing or Argent Job Scheduler installed on ODBC data source other than ‘System DSN”

Error message = ‘Error due to ODBC DSN registry entry missing or Argent Job Scheduler installed on ODBC data source other than ‘System DSN”

Error message = ‘Error due to ODBC DSN registry entry missing or Argent Job Scheduler installed on ODBC data source other than ‘System DSN”

* ERROR * Failed to get Argent Job Scheduler database details

* ERROR * Failed to get Argent Job Scheduler configuration details from machine ‘Server1’

Technical Background

The Argent WorldView installation fails and wrongly reports as failed to meet prerequisite, when Argent Job Scheduler is configured to use default database set for the Argent Service account in the Microsoft SQL Server

When Microsoft SQL Server installation is done ‘master’ database is set as default

However user has the option to set any database as default

This issue occurs when the Argent Job Scheduler database is set as default for Argent service account

This is due to the fact that the ODBC connection string provided by Microsoft lacks the database name, when the database used by the application is the default database

Resolution

Upgrade to Argent WorldView 7.0A-R2 or above
