Summary

After upgrading Argent Omega to a new version, user might encounter warning message ‘Old version UI is used (Current engine: vxx.xx.xx.xx). Please Clear Browser Cache And Restart UI’.

This is by design, not an error.

To address the issue, take steps shown as follows:

Then clear cached images and files.

Note: Do NOT clear anything other than Cached Images and Files. Otherwise, user might lose other important settings such as saved passwords etc.

After cache has been cleared, restart UI by pointing browser to Argent Omega address.

Technical Background

Argent Omega WUI is a Single Page Application (SPA). The WUI html and javascript are cached in browser. Argent Omega server does dedicate the maximum caching time.

However, if WUI is started sooner, and Argent Omega server has been upgraded, browser uses local cache instead of new WUI from server. As results, the client and server versions might not match.
