KBI 310793 New Feature: Implement Node Specific Alert Using Default Alert

Version

Argent Advanced Technology 3.1A-1401-A and later

Date

Friday, 3 Jan 2014

Summary

Alert is typically associate with Relator

All the nodes in the Relator use the same alerts when Rule is broken

Sometimes customer needs to implement node specific alert instead

For example, node A is managed by administrator X, node B by administrator Y

When Rule is broken for node A, customer would like administrator X to be notified; when Rule is broken for node B, administrator Y notified

It is difficult to implement this in previous versions without defining multiple Relators, one for each administrator

Argent AT 3.1A-1401-A can implement such node specific alert using node Default Alert

Technical Background

Argent AT 3.1A-1401-A implements Default Alert in both Network Group level and CMDB-X node level

If CMDB-X node level is not defined, use Network Group level

If neither is defined, no Default Alert is defined for the node

(Network Group Level)

(CMDB-X Node Level)

(Use Default Alert In Relator)

Resolution

Upgrade to Argent Advanced Technology 3.1A-1401-A or later
