KBI 311011 New Feature: Expanded Global Security Objects For AT Objects

Version

Argent Advanced Technology 3.1A-1407-A and later

Date

Tuesday, 22 July 2014

Summary

Argent AT has common objects shared among all Argent AT products

The shared objects include

  • CMDB-X
  • Monitoring Groups
  • Alerts
  • Macros
  • Calendar
  • Automatic Report Distribution

Each Argent AT product has its own System Administrator, who has full access to all product objects

It includes the shared objects by default

In the case that each Argent AT product is managed by different team, it becomes necessary to isolate shared objects from each other

For example, Argent Defender team has quite some Argent Defender specific Email Alerts that it does not want Argent Guardian Ultra team to touch or even to see

In earlier version, it is very difficult to implement if possible

Argent Defender team has no control who should be the System Administrator for Argent Guardian Ultra

When the System Administrator opens Argent Guardian Ultra main GUI, he will be able to see and modify every Argent Defender Email Alert definition

In Argent AT 3.1A-1407-A, option ‘This Object Belongs To‘ is available for shared objects and its folders

If a shared object belongs to Argent Defender, customer who opens Argent Guardian Ultra GUI, he will be access denied for the shared object, even he is System Administrator for Argent Guardian Ultra
