Summary
Argent Alert Executor and Backup Console can be installed side by side with Daughter Engines to provide reliable alerting in case that the communication between Daughter and Mother Engines is not available
Customer might decide later that the service is no longer needed and uninstall the component
Unfortunately, Daughter Engine services won’t restart after that
The Daughter Engine may not be stopped immediately if it is already running
The service will shut down when the midnight recycling comes or it is manually restarted
The issue has been addressed in Argent AT 3.1A-1504-T8
Technical Background
When Argent Alert Executor and Backup Console is uninstalled, the setup program removes the registry hive HKLM\Software\Argent\ARGENT_CONSOLE
Daughter Engine requires this registry hive to initialize internal data structure properly
As a result, the Daughter Engine won’t restart
