KBI 311025 Enhancement: Setting The Value Of If AdHoc Job Not Started By Rollover, Purge The Job Instance Option To False For Jobs Having No Schedule

Version

Argent Job Scheduler 10.0A-1407-T1 and later

Date

Thursday, 31 July 2014

Summary

Argent Job Scheduler installation has been enhanced by setting the value of ‘If AdHoc Job Not Started By Rollover, Purge The Job Instance‘ option to FALSE by default, for the Jobs that do not have any schedule

Technical Background

In prior versions, irrespective of whether a Job is associated with a Schedule or not, the flag ‘If AdHoc Job Not Started By Rollover, Purge The Job Instance‘ is set to TRUE

Also, when a Job without Schedule component is saved, the flag is defaulted to TRUE

i.e. Save option does not honour the change in flag value set by the user using a direct database edit

When such a Job becomes a post Job or part of a Job sequence macro of a parent Job and if the parent Job is submitted ad-hoc, the Jobs without Schedule will get purged at Rollover

In version 1407-T1, Argent Job Scheduler has been enhanced by setting the value for ‘If AdHoc Job Not Started By Rollover, Purge The Job Instance‘ to FALSE for the Jobs that do NOT have any schedule

The flag value for the Jobs that do not have any schedule may be reset to TRUE by the user using a direct database edit

While saving such a Job after editing, the current status of the flag will be honoured, despite of the fact whether a Schedule exists or not

This way the Jobs without Schedule which is a post Job or part of Job sequence macro will NOT get purged at Rollover

Resolution

Upgrade to Argent Job Scheduler 10.0A-1407-T1 or later
