Summary

When SQL Bulk Insert is turned on for saving Argent Predictor data, a performance hit or even deadlock might happen if the Argent Predictor mother table contains huge amount of data (in excess of 10,000 rows)

Technical Background

The Engine using SQL Bulk Insert to insert Argent Predictor data needs to update the statistics columns such as average, minimum, maximum etc in the mother table

This may take an excessive amount of time to update all the related mother rows for the bulk insert

As a result, a performance hit or even a deadlock can happen when the SQL Server machine is overloaded

Resolution

Upgrade to Argent Advanced Technology 3.1A-1310-B or later
