Summary

Argent Defender failed to detect Down Sites, especially when the Site has a long timeout because of partial connection

Even though customer can see ‘Fatal exception event detected‘ and multiple web session retries in the Task Log, no Down Site Event is fired

Technical Background

The issue is caused by that the default value of registry ‘MAX_DOCUMENT_WAIT_SECONDS‘ is too small

The default value is 10

If the Site takes more than 10 seconds to report HTTP Error 0 or 500, Argent Defender will fire the exception event prematurely and fail to detect the Down Site

Resolution

Update registry DWORD value

HKLM\SOFTWARE\Argent\ARGENT_DEFENDER\MAX_DOCUMENT_WAIT_SECOND to 60
