Summary

When running Linux/UNIX Script Rule against a Linux/UNIX server using telnet protocol, no result is returned. Relator trace log shows either ‘Monitoring engine process terminated unexpectedly’ or ‘ERROR #10022: Miscellaneous error’. The same thing happens when monitoring or archiving logs.

The issue has been addressed in Argent AT 5.1A-1707-A.

Technical Background

Dart Telnet library was used to implement telnet function in Argent AT. It was not compatible with VC++ 2015 and Windows 2008 R2 and later.

It affects Linux/UNIX monitoring in Argent Guardian Ultra, Linux/UNIX log monitoring and archiving in Argent Compliance, and Linux/UNIX Action Script in Argent Console.

The feature has been re-implemented using nsoftware IPWorks library.

Resolution

Upgrade to Argent Advanced Technology 5.1A-1707-A or later.
