Summary
Customer noticed License Manager denied access when work as Argent Service Account
Error ‘Access Denied (You Do Not Have The Rights To View This Record)’ was shown
For example,
Issue may be found in multiple Argent AT products without pattern
Security settings are the same for all Argent AT products
Customer was unable to manage Licensed Node properties due to access deny
The issue has been addressed in Argent AT 5.1A-1807-A
Technical Background
Issue was likely caused by customer playing around security setting in G4B screen
Control Information -> Administration -> License Manager -> Security Settings (right click menu)
License Manager screen (of a product) access will be denied when,
- ‘This Object Belongs To Following Selected Products’ is ON
AND
- Product is NOT ticked
For example,
The following screen means only Argent Guardian Ultra License Manager screen can be accessed
Access to License Manager screen on other Argent AT products will be denied even if using Argent Service Account
It can be validated by inspect Argent database, for example
In ARGSOFT_AT_SECURITY Table, corresponding data is found
Resolution
Upgrade to Argent Advanced Technology 5.1A-1807-A or above
For customer who cannot upgrade immediately, please do following:
- Perform Argent configuration backup (i.e. CXP export)
- Clear product selection in in G4B screen, AND
- Uncheck ‘This Object Belongs To Following Selected Products’
