What Are Runbooks And SuperLinks?
Runbooks
A Runbook is the optional text file to explain to the reader what to do when the Rule is broken
It’s a simple text file created by the person who creates or updates the Rule
For example, if a Rule breaks when there is less than 30% disk free space on the server, the Runbook may contain the following text:
“When this Rule is broken, you can run C:\CLEANUP.cmd to delete old and temporary files
If this Rule is broken on a weekend, please call Support at Extension 125”
SuperLinks
A SuperLink is an optional hyperlink used to connect you to a web page when a Rule is broken
The hyperlink can point to any web page and it can contain additional diagnostic information and instructions about what to do regarding the broken Rule
Essentially SuperLinks are a twenty-first century version of Runbooks
