Configuring Twitter Alerts
The Twitter account and application fields are self-explanatory.
User can either hardcode the Tweet text or use Argent AT %Variables% to create customized Tweets.
It is recommended to use the option ‘Prefix Tweet With Timestamp‘.
Twitter does NOT allow duplicate Tweets within a short span of time.
By using this option, the Tweet is unique and will not be considered a duplicate.
Twitter has a 140-character limitation on each Tweet.
It is possible, but not recommended, to send long messages completely by using the option ‘Break Long Message Into Multiple Tweets‘.
If the option is off, the message is simply truncated at the 137th character and appended with ‘…’.
The option ‘Do Not Send Same Tweets With XXXX Minutes‘ can be used to further reduce the load on Twitter.
