Summary

Backup Engine is not triggering alerts after it takes over the monitoring from the Primary Engine.

Technical Background

It takes 20 minutes for the Primary Engine to propagate its database information to the Backup Engine.

It is not uncommon for a Customer to immediately test the Backup Engine’s failover capabilities after installing it.

It will not fire any alerts if it has not had time to receive the Primary Engine’s database.

Resolution

Have Customer wait at least 20 minutes to propagate its database to the Backup Engine before testing failover.
