Summary
A Customer using Argent version 7.0A-0401 or later may find reports emailed as an attachment are garbled when received in their email client.
Technical Background
By default, Argent version 7.0A-0401 or later is configured to UUENCODE email attachments.
Depending on the email client used to receive these reports, these attachments may appear garbled, and as part of the body of the message, rather than as a separate attachment.
The Exchange 5.0 client, for example, does not reliably handle UUENCODE attachments.
These same messages may appear correctly in other email clients, such as Microsoft Outlook.
Resolution
On the Argent Console, go to Administration, Engine Manager, Main Engine, and click the Email tab.
Click the Advanced Setting option in the SMTP Protocol section and select MIME encoding.
