Summary

There is an issue when installing Guardian Monitoring Engines locally using the ag_me_tool.exe command line utility.

This is due to the location of the installation files.

Technical Background

AG_ME_TOOL.EXE is a utility program used to administer Argent Guardian Monitoring Engines from a Command Prompt.

It can be found inside *:\ARGENT\ArgentManagementConsole\ArgentGuardian or inside the AG directory in the installation package.

This is typically used to administer Argent Guardian Monitoring Engines remotely, however it also allows you to install or de-install Monitoring Engines locally using:

     ag_me_tool.exe /[DE-INSTALL/INSTALL] /LOCAL

However, this has not been fully implemented and the installation is unable to begin due to the location of the install files.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, you will need to copy AG_ME_TOOL.EXE to the root of the \_ARGENT_INSTALL directory and run the command from this location.
