Summary

SQL Query Rules that use Transact SQL as the query option fail if the SQL-DMO client libraries are unavailable.

Technical Background

Testing a SQL Query Rule using Transact SQL on a server that does not have SQL-DMO installed results in the following message:

Could not connect to database 'LendX' on SQL Server 'LXDB1'. SQL-DMO error: 

[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server]To connect to this server you must 

use SQL Server Management Studio or SQL Server Management Objects (SMO). (8004d903)

Resolution

Transact SQL requires SQL-DMO to execute.

User needs to install SQL-DMO for SQL Server 2005.
