Technical Background
This type of message is not as severe as it appears. The Argent XT Agent for iSeries logs a message whenever a TCP/IP socket operation does not complete successfully. A socket operation does not complete successfully when the central Argent XT server disconnects from the XT Agent or iSeries. The *** CATASTROPHIC INTERNAL ERROR text is an eye-catcher to make sure the message is not overlooked.
When the message occurs during a TCP/IP socket recv() or send() operation, the message can be safely ignored.
Resolution
Argent is considering removing or altering the eye-catcher text in a future release of the product.
