During upgrade of AT products, some files may be locked if some AT service does not exit cleanly. Customer can manually correct this rare issue to complete the upgrade

Technical Background

It has been reported that ARGSOFT_AAC_DLL.DLL is locked when upgrading Argent for SQL Server. This is generally caused by that the AT service does not exit cleanly and some child processes are still running. Customer should manually kill those processes to correct the issue


Customer can manually correct the issue by doing following:

  • Stop all Argent AT services on the server
  • Open Task Manager
  • Identify any process with name starting with ‘argsoft_‘ and terminate it
  • Run setup and upgrade all installed AT products
