‘Monitoring Engine process terminates unexpectedly with exit code:-1073741502‘

Technical Background

This is a Microsoft .NET 3.5 Framework bug

The exit code is 0xC0000142 (STATUS_DLL_INIT_FAILED)

The Microsoft explanation is:

This error is due to {DLL Initialization Failed} initialization of the dynamic link library %hs failed

The process is terminating abnormally

The most common failed DLL is user32.dll

Resolution

It is possible that, this system is running out of resource or has corrupted files such as bad disks

A reboot may correct this egregious Microsoft error

If this Microsoft bug persists, consider reinstall or repair .NET Framework on the affected server
