Summary

ESX host using UTC time causes Event time to be two hours ahead or alerting time in the log files

Technical Background

Depending on what version of ESX the host is running some ESX hosts are using UTC time and that causes Event time to be two hours ahead or alerting time in the log files and reports based on these logs

Please note that ESXi uses UTC time and does not support changing time zones

Resolution

Instead of asking client to try to adjust time zone on their ESX host to local settings instead of UTC using the steps in this VMware article, Argent will develop an enhancement to make date and time display more clear
