Summary
Argent for Oracle fails to connect to License Nodes, with TNS name having dots, when JDBC Drivers prior to version 12.1.0.2 are used
Technical Background
An issue was reported in Argent for Oracle that connectivity tests were failed on licensed Nodes which are using dots (‘.’) in TNS names
This is happened because JDBC Drivers prior to the version 12.1.0.2 does not support TNS names with dots
During the connectivity test, JDBC driver with throw the following exception:
“java.sql.SQLRecoverableException: IO Error: Invalid connection string format, a valid format is: “host:port:sid””
This can be addressed by installing Database 12c Release 1 (12.1.0.2) JDBC Drivers
