Argent for Oracle – All Versions

Thursday, 9 July 2015

Argent for Oracle fails to connect to License Nodes, with TNS name having dots, when JDBC Drivers prior to version are used

Technical Background

An issue was reported in Argent for Oracle that connectivity tests were failed on licensed Nodes which are using dots (‘.’) in TNS names

This is happened because JDBC Drivers prior to the version does not support TNS names with dots

During the connectivity test, JDBC driver with throw the following exception:

“java.sql.SQLRecoverableException: IO Error: Invalid connection string format, a valid format is: “host:port:sid””

This can be addressed by installing Database 12c Release 1 ( JDBC Drivers
