Summary

How to disable the superseded Argent Predictor Compression Service

Technical Background

Starting with Argent Advanced Technology 5.1A-1610-A the Microsoft Visual Studio 2015 compiler is used

Sadly Microsoft has broken the old Argent Predictor Compression Service

To address this Microsoft flaw, Argent Predictor Ultra has been created

Do this by using the Argent Control Information -> Administration -> Engine Manager -> Supervising Engine

If the Argent Predictor Compression Service is used on this server, the screen on the right will shows

• “Argent Predictor Compression Service Is Currently Used”
• “Day Limit for Keeping Argent Predictor Data” will be grey out”

Resolution

To disable the superseded Argent Predictor Compression Service, registry editing is required for each server

1. Open the Registry
2. Edit for EACH Argent AT product, for Argent Guardian Ultra as example:
   
   

   HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Argent\ARGENT_GUARDIAN_ULTRA

   Change USE_ARGENT_PREDICTOR_DATA_SERVICE from 1 to 0

3. Review Argent Console and ensure day limit for keeping Argent Predictor data align customer requirement
4. Restart EACH Argent product Supervising Engine
