Summary

Error 1130 When you start NT, or when you try to start the Server service at the command line using:

     NET START SERVER

The following error message appears:

System error 1130 has occurred.

Not enough server storage is available to process this command.

This issue will typically occur with machines from an OEM with Windows NT preinstalled.

Additionally, the following entry may appear in the NT event log:

Event ID 7023: The Server service terminated with the following error:

Not enough server storage is available to process this command.

Technical Background

Several conditions cause this error.

The most common cause is Microsoft networking being installed without a physical connection to the network, or if networking was installed, it was installed after Service Pack 3 or higher were applied.

Argent products require the Server service to communicate with the network.

Resolution

Reinstall the network adapter drivers with a physical connection to the network, then apply the Service Packs.
