Technical Background

Argent WorldView 1507-A incorporates the following existing options of the Argent Job Scheduler GUI:

Rerun Job

The Rerun Job option is to rerun the selected Job instance whose execution has been completed

When a Job instance is subjected for rerun, a new instance of the Job is created

The Rerun option is applicable to the Job instance of the following status

  • Aborted
  • Ended
  • Failed
  • Abended
  • Cancelled
  • Failed To Start
  • Suspend

Run Job Now – If Dependencies Are Met

The ‘Select Action’ combo option Run Job Now – If Dependencies Are Met is for executing the selected Job instances by honoring Dependency

Setting a Dependency condition for a Job ensures that a previous Job has completed as expected or a condition has been met prior to running a Job

Jobs can have three types of dependencies:

  • File Dependency
  • Job Dependency
  • ODBC Dependency

File Dependency

Checks if the specified file is present (and optionally has or has not been modified in XX minutes) before executing the Job

Job Dependency

Checks if the specified Job has completed with an expected exit code within the past XX minutes, before executing the main Job

ODBC Dependency

Checks an executed ODBC database query to see if an expected value is returned; if so, run the Job

To perform the action Run Job Now – If Dependencies Are Met, the Job instances must be either in the Ready or Held status

Run Job Now – Ignore All Dependencies

The option Run Job Now – Ignore All Dependencies is for executing the selected Job instances by ignoring Dependency

The Job instances must be either in the Ready or Held status

Cancel Job

The scheduled Job instance of the following status can be cancelled

  • Ready
  • Held
  • Running
  • Pending
  • Processing

Delete Job

The Delete Job option permits to delete the selected Job instance of the below status

  • Ready
  • Held
  • Aborted
  • Ended
  • GUI Editing
  • Failed
  • Abended
  • Cancelled
  • Failed To Start
  • Suspend
  • Submitting
